Staff Embedded AI Applications Engineer (S)

Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Embedded AI Applications Engineer to drive the development and deployment of neuromorphic AI solutions for sensor-driven applications. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers to deliver innovative, energy-efficient AI applications that address real-world challenges.

We will trust you with:
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust AI/ML algorithms using Innatera’s SDK, tailored for embedded systems and TinyML applications;

  • Analyzing and optimizing ML models for latency, memory usage, power consumption, and resource utilization using our spiking neural network (SNN) SoC;

  • Developing and integrating end-to-end software pipelines and applications on MCUs or edge devices, collaborating with hardware, compiler, and customer teams

  • Contributing to the advancement of neuromorphic computing by developing new methodologies and participating in the creation of intellectual property, including patents and research publications;

  • Guiding and mentoring junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team;

  • Providing technical expertise in customer interactions, developing tailored solutions and supporting business development initiatives.

What you need to succeed:
  • PhD or Master's in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field;

  • 5+ years of experience in developing embedded AI applications, TinyMl or edge AI development;

  • Proficiency in Python, C or C++ for real-time, resource-constrained systems;

  • Familiarity with frameworks like TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch, ONNX, or custom TinyML stacks;

  • Experience in developing software frameworks for energy-efficient AI applications;

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly;

  • Ability to articulate intricate neuromorphic concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders effectively;

  • Curiosity, self-direction, and a passion for building efficient, elegant solutions.

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of neuromorphic principles and/or spiking neural networks (SNNs) is a strong plus;

  • Background in robotics, autonomous systems, or sensor fusion applications at the edge;

  • Hands-on experience with hardware/software co-design and optimization workflows;

  • Contributions to academic research, patents, or open-source neuromorphic tools;

  • Familiarity with emerging standards and ethical considerations in neuromorphic AI.
