Director of Sales and Business Development North America (S)

Summary

We’re looking for a Director of Sales and Business Development in North America. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing Innatera’s commercial presence in the US, with a strong focus on customer acquisition, business development, and revenue growth. You will lead the entire sales cycle, from identifying opportunities to closing deals, and drive strategic initiatives to expand Innatera’s market reach in AI chips, consumer electronics, IoT and other sectors.

We will trust you with:
  • Developing and executing a commercial strategy for North America, aligning with Innatera’s global business objectives;

  • Drive new business opportunities, focusing on high-impact customer engagements in consumer electronics, industrial, IoT, AI and other sectors;

  • Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting to closing deals, ensuring strong pipeline development;

  • Establish key partnerships with major sensor companies, system integrators, and device manufacturers;

  • Engaging in business development activities, developing strategic GTM plans and taking care of RFPs, and RFIs;

  • Negotiating and structuring deals, ensuring long-term customer relationships and revenue growth;

  • Representing Innatera at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, strengthening our brand presence in the US market;

  • Collaborating with internal teams (engineering, marketing, product) to align commercial efforts with technical and product roadmaps;

  • Working closely with executive leadership to refine sales strategies, define KPIs, and achieve revenue targets.

What you need to succeed:
  • Proven experience in sales and business development within the semiconductor industry (AI chips, IoT, consumer electronics, industrial applications);

  • Strong background in selling chips and solutions to large consumer electronics markets/businesses;

  • Deep understanding of the AI ecosystem, edge AI, and embedded AI applications;

  • We’re looking for a hunter - resilient, persistent, and proactive in driving sales in new markets;

  • Strong ethical decision-making and ability to act in the best interest of both the company and customers;

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex sales cycles;

  • Demonstrated experience in building commercial partnerships and managing high-value enterprise customers;

  • Experience with business expansion strategies in new regions;

  • Technical background and/or strong understanding of AI chips, neuromorphic computing, or related technologies;

  • Prior experience working in startup environments or establishing new regional operations;

  • Knowledge of consumer electronics supply chains and key industry players;

  • Ability to work independently in a remote, high-growth startup environment;

  • Willingness to travel frequently across the US, with a focus on West Coast clients.
